Liliana Asta, a singer and songwriter from rural Illinois, discovered her passion for music in the warm embrace of family, singing along with her dad as he strummed his guitar. Those moments of creation sparked a deep connection to songwriting, culminating in her first original piece at just eight years old. By the time she turned nine, she had picked up the ukulele, and further expanded her musical horizons by learning the guitar.
Now, as she navigates the complexities of life, Liliana channels her experiences into her music. The fusion of her indie folk pop style and heartfelt lyrics allows her to express the highs and lows in a way that resonates with others. As she continues to grow as an artist, her commitment to crafting authentic music remains steadfast, helping her and her listeners process the journey of life through melody and song.
Her first live performance was at age 12 for a public online audience for the Galena Center for the Arts. She continues to perform at local venues, festivals and private events. In between high school, and her extra curricular activities, she is working on publishing her first EP release. Liliana plays trombone in her high school concert and jazz band, and in the Dubuque Symphony Youth Ensemble (DSYE). She is also an avid musical theater lover! In February 2025, she was part of the Illinois Music Education Conference Honors Chorus.
Liliana describes her original music as indie folk-pop. Some of her biggest influences are: Conan Gray, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Boygenius, Olivia Rodrigo, Laufey, Frank Ocean, Brigitte Calls Me Baby, Lorde and Faye Webster.
